WildCraft--Beginning Watercolor (room 203)

Over the course of 4 weeks, artist and educator Bonnie Paisley will introduce students to watercolor paint and a variety of traditional techniques including gradient washes, edge blending, masking and transparent layering. Lessons on non-traditional techniques such as pouring, salting, resist techniques, and using layering mediums will also be provided.  Through demonstrations and hands-on practice, students will begin to learn how the relationship between the quantity of water, the type of paper, and the pigments used will inform the painted surface. Students will be encouraged to experiment and practice with the option to paint from life or to paint from imagination.
