Barbara Parker

Barbara is a founding member of the Studio Practice Class and has a deep and consistent dedication to watercolor. Working twice a week for many years now, she has reached a level of practice where with each new blank paper, she can choose to expand and go beyond her own artistic boundaries or revel & relax in her significant skill. This year, she began a series of quick sketchbook works that combined colored pencil drawing with watercolor. Each work was started and finished within in one or two classes. Barbara is devoted to representing her subject faithfully and with care, especially when painting portraits of her cats. She is not afraid to bring in flowing washes, delicate layers, and tackle complicated details. Her work ethic, skillful manipulation of water, and prolific portfolio is a true inspiration!
