Laura Milne

Laura Milne is one of the newer members of the Studio Practice Class this year. She came to the studio with a strong abstract painting practice in her past and is working to re-engage with her materials. When someone is returning to a creative practice, sometimes it is helpful to focus on quantity—allowing oneself to create freely without an “end product” looming over the process. Laura is working quickly on paper and develops at least 3 pieces each class—one is just beginning, another is somewhere in the middle, and one is close to being finished. Laura’s current materials are black and white gesso layered with washes of Gansai Tambi watercolors.
