Susan Boulot

Susan has been in the Studio Practice class for over 10 years and has experimented with a wide range of subjects and techniques since she first started. She now works primarily in oil on wood, but has also used various printmaking techniques in the past. A careful practitioner and conscientious user of color, Susan has been deeply inspired this year by the work of James Lavadour. Using several different types of tools she creates transparent layers of oil, focusing on shapes and lyrical marks that echo the movement of water, clouds, mists, and mountains.
